10 miles down

My training partners backed out on me at 3 am this morning... unfortunately I missed the text so instead of laying in bed I was up at 3:30 getting ready to run. When I got to the spot and no one was there I finally checked my messages and saw that I was running solo today... No problem and in some ways preferred (still getting my head wrapped around running with a group after training solo for must of my adult running career).

I wasn't sure how fast I wanted to run... then took off at a 7:05 pace for the first mile.  6:57 and 6:49 for mile 2 and 3.  I had talked myself into 3 hard miles so then I slowed a bit and ran mile 4 at 7:05 and mile 5 (net uphill) at 7:21.  At this point my HR was in the 160s and I decided one more mile and then I'm stopping my watch.  I hit mile 6 in 6:31 and shaved my time on a Strava segment in the process.

I stopped my watch.  Walked about for about 5 minutes.  Then resumed my run at a slower pace.  8:17, 7:57, 7:56, 7:40 for 4 more miles to make it 10.

Split 1
6.01
41:51
6:58 pace

Split 2
4.01
31:54
7:57 pace

Total run:
10.02 miles
1:13:45
7:21 pace

16.12 km down...  292.87 km to go for the June 309km challenge
